Iowa resident deer hunting licenses and tags for the 2026–2027 season go on sale August 15 at 9 a.m. Purchases can be made online or through local agents. Note that new management zones and county quotas take effect this year.

License Sales & Purchasing Details

  • Release Date & Time: August 15, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. CDT.
  • Where to Buy: Purchase online through the Iowa DNR Online License Portal or via local Electronic Licensing System (ELSI) retail agents. B&B Shooting Supplies
  • Resident Deer Tag Costs:
    • Any-Sex Tags: $33.00
    • 1st Antlerless Tag: $28.50
    • Additional Antlerless Tag: $15.00
    • Landowner/Tenant Any-Sex or Doe Tag: $2.00
